Pharmacological Action: Dihydroxynaphthylpyridinium chloride is a tetrahydropyrimidine antinematode drug. Its mechanism of action is to produce neuromuscular blocking effects on sensitive nematodes, causing paralysis. It has nicotinic properties, its action is similar to acetylcholine, and it can also inhibit cholinesterase. It is highly effective against Parasitic equine nematodes, common roundworms, equine roundworms, and viviparous nematodes.

Drug Interactions:
(1) Use with methomyl or levamisole may enhance toxicity due to similar mechanisms.
(2) Concurrent use with organophosphates or diethylcarbazine will intensify adverse reactions.
(3) It has an antagonistic effect with piperazine; they should not be used simultaneously.

Dosage and Administration: Oral administration. Single dose per 10kg body weight: Horses 0.25-0.5 tablets; Dogs 0.17-0.33 tablets. Vomiting may occur in small animals as an adverse reaction.

Precautions: Do not use concurrently with muscle relaxants, anticholinesterase drugs, or organophosphate insecticides; use with caution in severely weakened animals.
