Veterinary Injectable Phenylbutazone 20% Dexamethasone Injection for Horses (100ml)

Composition: Each ml contains Phenylbutazone 200mg and Dexamethasone (as sodium phosphate) 0.38 mg.

Mechanism of Action

Dexamethasone: A member of the glucocorticoid family, it provides pharmacologic effects across all body cells. It is primarily evaluated for its immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory actions. It inhibits lytic enzymes released during inflammation and stress, reducing phagocytosis by macrophages.

Phenylbutazone: An NSAID that inhibits prostaglandin inflammatory effects, blocking pain, inflammation, and fever. It reduces vascular permeability in early-stage inflammation, preventing edema and diapedesis.

Indications & Administration

Used as an anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, and analgesic for musculoskeletal inflammations like arthritis, osteoarthritis, laminitis, and tendonitis in horses.

Horses	20 ml/day by slow IV injection; can be repeated depending on severity.
Foals	Slow IV or deep IM: 6 - 10 ml; repeated 24 - 48 hours later depending on severity.

Precautions & Storage

Contraindicated in animals with heart, liver, or kidney problems, or late-term pregnancy.
Do not use concomitantly with other NSAIDs or corticosteroids.
Store between 15 - 25° C, protected from direct sunlight.
