Introduction: Kanamycin Sulfate Injection is an aminoglycoside antibiotic liquid, colorless to yellowish in appearance, designed for effective veterinary treatment.
Pharmacologic Action:

Pharmacodynamics: Kanamycin provides strong antibacterial effects against most gram-negative bacilli such as Escherichia Coli, Salmonella, and Pasteurella multocida. It is also effective against Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

Pharmacokinetics: Rapidly absorbed via intramuscular injection, reaching peak blood concentration within 0.5-1.5 hours. It is primarily excreted through glomerular filtration.

Usage & Interactions
Indications: Used to treat septicemia, urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, and pig asthma.
Dosage and Administration:

Intramuscular Injection: 0.1-0.15ml per 1kg body weight for livestock. Administered twice a day for 3-5 consecutive days.

Drug Interactions:
  • Synergistic effect with penicillin or cephalosporin.
  • Antibacterial effect is enhanced in alkaline environments (e.g., with sodium bicarbonate).
  • Ototoxicity may increase if combined with furosemide or erythromycin.
